Frequently asked questions
What order do I post the tiles?
Upload file 1 first and the highest number last. ImageSplit numbers from bottom-right to top-left so the newest post lands top-left on the profile. Do not post in reading order.
What size should the source be?
A 3240×3240 square is a safe 3×3 canvas (1080 per tile). Larger files survive Instagram compression better. A 1080 source becomes nine soft 360-pixel tiles.
Does this upload my photos?
No. Preview, crop, slicing, and ZIP packaging all run in the browser tab. ImageSplit has no image upload API.
Grid or carousel?
Use this page for separate profile posts that form one picture. Use the carousel splitter when every panel belongs in a single swipe post cropped to 4:5.
Can I edit tiles after download?
Yes. They are ordinary image files. Filters and captions happen in your usual editor or in the Instagram app.
Why not Split in 9?
Split in 9 cuts a 3×3 in reading order with no crop. This page adds square crop, a profile mockup, and upload numbering. Use Split in 9 for a print or a board, not for posting a puzzle.
