Tap the post generator

The timeline shows a cropped grid; a tap opens the full set. Use this when the joke or the reveal depends on that pause — not when you only need four equal files.

100% private — processing happens entirely in your browser.

The timeline sees a fragment first

The final image appears only after someone taps the post.

What is Tap the Post?

Tap the Post cuts one image into a small timeline grid or a longer reveal. Choose the shape, adjust the crop, and export files in the order they should be attached to one post.

How it works

Build a tap reveal

  1. 1

Hide the punchline in the crop

Tall pieces often hide more in a 2×2 timeline preview. If the important detail sits in the center, 2×2 will cut it into four corners — that is the point.

  2. 2

    Download the ZIP

Four files for 2×2, labeled 1–4 in top-left through bottom-right order.

  3. 3

    Attach them in numbered order

A tap only reconstructs the frame if the four files are the same crop, the same size, and attached 1–4.

Tips before you download

Make the first fragment compelling

The initial tile should contain enough contrast or intrigue to earn the tap.

Check every seam

Thin lines and faces can look broken when a crop is slightly off.

Keep the order intact

Attach exported files in sequence so the timeline preview matches the composition.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this work for Instagram too?

You can post a 2×2 on Instagram, but Instagram profile puzzles need reverse order. Use the Instagram grid pages for that workflow.

X splitter or this page?

Layouts and numbering match. The X splitter is the layout reference (order, crop, misalignment). This page is the format: hide enough in the timeline that a tap is worth it. If every tile already reads as the whole joke, you do not need a reveal.

Is the generator free?

Yes. No account and no watermark. Work stays on the device.

Are images uploaded?

No. Crop, split, and ZIP all happen locally in the browser.
