What is Split to PDF?
Split to PDF creates a single PDF with numbered sheets, paper settings, trim marks, and an assembly guide. It is the right workflow when a larger image needs to be printed on ordinary paper.

Build the poster PDF

The preview shows one box per page. Empty regions stay unprinted white. Files over 50 MB should go through the compressor first.

Pick A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape. Sheets across control the final width. Rows follow the image ratio.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pick A4 and US Letter?
Yes. Portrait or landscape. Every page in the PDF uses that paper size. A4 is 210×297 mm; US Letter is 8.5×11 in. The preview shows one box per page.
What do margin and overlap do?
Margin (default 8 mm) keeps ink off the printer edge. Overlap (default 4 mm) repeats a strip on neighboring sheets so you can align and tape them. Increase overlap if your printer clips; increase margin if the driver already adds its own border.
Is there a page cap?
Sheets across can be 1–10. The automatic row count must stay at or under 100 pages. A very tall image with many sheets wide will hit that cap.
Does this upload the picture?
No. The PDF is rasterized locally. Transparent pixels flatten onto white for predictable printing.
Can I upload an existing PDF?
Not on this page. Convert the page you own to an image first, then build a new poster PDF.
What do trim marks and page numbers do?
Trim marks show where to cut after taping. Page numbers print on each sheet so you can sort a dropped stack. Both are on by default and can be turned off before you build the PDF.
